Brian King is running for the Utah House of Representatives district 28. This seat was formerly held by Rep. Roz McGee who is a great ally to the LGBT community, and has endorsed Brian. Brian King is also a great ally to our community and we need all the allies in the Utah legislature that we can get.
Equality Utah needs your help to get Brain King Elected! He is beginning his canvassing on Tuesday September 9, and will walk each Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 5:30 to 8:30 pm and each Saturday from 9:30 to 12:30 and 1:30-4:30. This schedule will be the same each week until Election Day!
They will meet at Brian Kings Home located at 1855 East Michigan Avenue.
Over the last four years, we have seen MANY progressive ideas fail to pass the council by only one vote. These include public safety issues, collective bargaining rights for county employees, and the domestic partner registry.
My campaign has been working around the clock to get our message out, but we need your help. We are trying to get 50 people to help us canvass the district on each of the following days:
September 20th
October 11th
and October 18th
We will have shifts leaving my house (11187 Tall Pines Way in Sandy) at 10 am and 2 pm each of those days. According to studies, canvassing door to door is the most effective way to deliver your campaign message. One in fourteen knocks on a door equals a vote. Mail is the next most effective with 1 in 200 equaling a vote.
Finally, we would like to have every Democrat in Council District 6 to have a lawn sign. If you or someone you know lives in the district, PLEASE call us for a delivery.
